Training Officer — Permanent
Generation Thailand seeks to accelerate learning and place disconnected young people in jobs and give them the skills and support they need to achieve lifelong personal and professional success – fundamentally changing their life trajectories.
The Generation program is a 4-12 week “bootcamp” trainings for young adults. Currently, programs are offered in Technology and Healthcare sectors with plans to expand to other sectors as well. The program offers students integrated technical, behavioral & mind-set skill training, and mentorship.
We are seeking full-time Training officer, preferably based out of Bangkok, to support us lead the delivery of high-quality training of our various programs running in Thailand. The Training officer would be responsible for onboarding new trainers/instructors and teaching assistants (TAs and providing ongoing instructional support to existing ones the guidance of the Curriculum and Instruction Manager/Lead. S/He will be responsible for working in collaboration with delivery partners’ instructional coaches to ensure a smooth capacity transfer. The job description outlined below represents a broad scope of responsibilities and may change based on Generation strategy.
This position is open for Thailand Citizens only.
Type of employment: Full-time employment position for 1-year (with possibility of extension, subject to funding)
Working Environment: This position is based in Bangkok, Thailand. Working arrangement is flexible (able to visit the office at least twice a week and work onsite with partners as assigned).

To be successful you'll need:
Candidates for this role would be expected to possess the following experience and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a master’s degree in education, healthcare, or social administration-related field
- Minimum of 2 years in training/teaching experience (e.g., on-the-job training, new hire onboarding, classroom instruction, coaching, etc.)
- Comfort with using technology to collaborate (e.g., Google docs, Zoom video conference, etc.)
- Proactive collaborator, willing to propose solutions and ideas to challenges based on expertise, debate their merits, and make final recommendations for trainer support
- Self-reflective and open to frequent feedback from Generation and employer and training partners
- Experience teaching and/or designing instructional content for students from low-income communities
- Experience teaching and/or designing instructional materials for young adults between the ages of 18 and 29 years old
- Experience coaching teachers/trainers to deliver quality instruction
- Experience with having used data to improve instruction highly preferable
- Experience with having LMS (Learning Management System) highly preferable
What you'll do:
The Training Officer is a full-time role that will report directly to the C&I Manager/Lead of Generation Thailand. The key responsibilities are:
Trainer Selection & Onboarding (20%)
- Conduct instructional task debriefs and fit interviews for potential candidates to finalize their selection as Generation trainers/instructors and TAs
- Customize standardized templates, onboarding agendas, and sessions plans to lead trainings with Generation trainers.
- Facilitate online and / or in-person onboarding and training for Generation trainers, engaging them in an adult-appropriate, participatory way.
- Collect and evaluate data before, during, and after onboarding and trainings to identify lessons learned and any additional support needs for trainers.
Trainer Professional Development & Classroom Delivery (50%)
- Support trainers in setting professional development plans that include short- and long-term goals
- Conduct regular classroom visits (on-site and online) for trainers using relevant observation tools (e.g., instructional delivery checklist or instructional effectiveness rubric).
- Collect video samples, and assess trainers capability. Define strategies for closing the gap from ideal performance
- Use data gathered from our LMS (Learning Management System) or via surveys for our students and trainers and analyze observation evidence – to identify trainer strength, growth, potential opportunities, and progress toward development goals.
- Deliver ongoing and differentiated professional development to trainers (e.g., personalized coaching, governance calls, refresher training, etc.) to help them improve their delivery the Generation methodology and instructional practice.
- Create culture and community among trainers, motivating them and their participants to reach their full potential and invest in Generation’s mission.
Communications & Stakeholder Engagement (20%)
- Ensure the timely documentation and input of data into the Generation dashboard
- Participate in governance calls as per set cadence to ensure adherence to the Generation methodology across the value chain
- Communicate important updates and information about trainer development to Operations staff and other relevant stakeholders.
- Resolve issues with key stakeholders (e.g., participants, Operations staff, trainers, parents, etc.), escalating issues as needed.
Other Responsibilities (10%)
- Set professional and personal goals to develop as a Training Officer.
- Support the management of training centers (e.g., ensuring materials are ready, etc.).
- Substitute for trainers in case of absence/attrition.
- Liaise with stakeholders (e.g., trainers, training delivery partners) to gather inputs needed for curriculum design and to obtain feedback on design as needed.
- Collaborate with remote colleagues on the global curriculum design team to ensure effective curriculum localisation and session design to support quality delivery
- Remain plugged into curriculum design and delivery best practice as it surfaces from Generation countries
- Monitor programmes’ ability to deliver on key value drivers to employers
