Hackathon – Eligibility Criteria, Terms & Conditions

- Applicant criteria:
- Team Size: Each team must consist of 3 – 5 members.
- Age Requirement: All team members must be at least 18 years old on the date of application.
- Participant Status: Submissions on behalf of corporations, startups, or educational institutions are not permitted.
- Eligibility: Open to the general public, college, and university students (members do not need to be from the same institution).
- Interests: Applicants must demonstrate an interest in AI development and addressing employment challenges.
- Problem Statement: Teams must select only one problem statement from the list provided by the project.
- Event Attendance: Teams must be able to attend all scheduled activities organized by the project (with at least 1 representative per team).
- Collaboration: Discussions must be kept strictly within the team; consulting external individuals during the competition is not allowed.
- Solution Originality: The presented solutions must be original or adapted from existing concepts to deliver significant improvements.
- Team Composition: Changes to the team roster will not be permitted under any circumstances once the application is confirmed.
- Capacity Limit: Applications are limited to a maximum of 30 teams, on a first-come, first-served basis.
2. Intellectual Property Rights and Originality
2.1 All presented solutions must be the original concepts developed solely by the respective teams.
2.2 Plagiarism or copying concepts from other individuals or organizations without proper citation is strictly prohibited.
2.3 Teams guarantee that their solutions do not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any individual or entity.
2.4 All concepts and submitted solutions shall remain the intellectual property of the team members who created them.

Generation and the co-organizers reserve the right to publish team names, photographs, and summaries of the winning solutions for educational purposes and institutional public relations.3. Judging Criteria

4. Code of Conduct
4.1 Respect and Collaboration: Participants must treat all team members, fellow competitors, speakers, mentors, and judges with respect and dignity. Any form of discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate behavior based on gender, age, race, educational institution, or any other dimension is strictly prohibited.
4.2 Honesty and Integrity: Participants must not engage in any form of cheating, plagiarism, or unauthorized modification, tampering, or transferring of system datasets. Falsely claiming ownership of another person’s work or ideas is strictly forbidden.
4.3 Ethical Standards for Solutions: The presented solutions and AI models must comply with applicable laws and ethical standards. They must not create or support tools that facilitate identity fraud, manipulate data for personal gain (e.g., using AI to forge unverified content in a resume), or generate bias in hiring and employment systems.
4.4 Disqualification: The organizers reserve the right to immediately disqualify any team found violating the terms, behaviors, or ethical codes detailed above. The decision of the organizing team shall be final.
5. Use of AI Tools and External Resources
5.1 Embracing Innovation: The project fully supports and welcomes the use of AI tools, No-Code/Low-Code platforms, and various APIs to assist in developing concepts and creating High-Fidelity Mockups.
5.2 Responsibility for Data and Intellectual Property: Participants are strictly responsible for ensuring that the use of any AI tools or open-source code does not violate copyright, intellectual property rights, or the Terms of Service of those respective platforms.
5.3 Citation of External Resources: If statistical data, research reports, or insights from external sources are used to support problem analysis and solutions, participants must provide accurate and reliable references.
5.4 Transparency: Teams must be able to clearly and transparently explain the core architecture and specific AI technology tools implemented in their solutions to the judging panel.
6. Prizes and Eligibility Conditions
6.1 Results Announcement and Judging: Official results will be announced and awards presented on the final day of the competition. The decision of the distinguished judging panel is final and binding in all matters, and no appeals or disputes will be entertained.
6.2 Conditions for Receiving Prizes: Winning teams must have their members participate in the final pitch presentation and attend the award ceremony at the scheduled date and time (complying with the minimum attendance required by the project).
6.3 Prize Allocation Within the Team: Cash prizes or non-monetary awards will be distributed in the name of the “Team” (via the designated team representative registered in the system). The project organizers hold no responsibility or liability for how the prize is allocated or divided among team members.
6.4 Taxes and Fees: All cash prizes and award values may be subject to applicable withholding taxes and other financial fees as required by law (if any).
7. Personal Data Protection (PDPA)
(1) Collected Personal Data: Generation (Thailand) and the organizers will collect personal data necessary for the implementation of the project, including: full name, date of birth, contact information (phone number, email), educational background (faculty/department, institution), and audiovisual data (photographs, moving images from presentations, or event video recordings).
(2) Purposes of Collection, Use, and Disclosure:
- To facilitate registration, selection, eligibility verification, and the creation of the Hackathon participant database.
- To coordinate, notify schedules, share important updates, and communicate various benefits throughout the duration of the project.
- To promote and publicize project activities through communication channels of Generation (Thailand) and its co-organizing partners (e.g., event atmosphere photos, presentation video clips, project concept summaries) for educational purposes and social impact driving.
- To process statistical analysis, conduct research, and prepare operational summary reports for submission to relevant partner organizations.
(3) Data Security and Retention Period: The organizers will store your personal data in systems secured with appropriate standard security measures to prevent unauthorized access. The data will be retained for as long as necessary to achieve the aforementioned purposes or as required by law.
(4) Rights of the Data Subject: You possess legal rights to access, request a copy of, rectify, object to, or request the erasure or restriction of the use of your personal data, including the right to withdraw your consent. You may express your intent in writing through the primary contact channels of Generation (Thailand).
(5) Consent for Project Participation: By submitting this application form, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and consented to the organizers collecting, using, and disclosing your personal data as specified above. Please note that if you do not consent to provide the necessary information, the organizers may be unable to process your application or evaluate your team’s submission.
